• specifying and commissioning software for a database of open learning materials and upgrading existing data to the national standards
• abstracting project reports for a database covering the Department's under-utilised information resources
• maintaining contact with awarding bodies throughout the UK

Learning and Skills Council

• collecting, updating, classifying, coding, inputting and maintaining the qualifications currently included in the Learning Aim Database (LAD), which is used as the basis both for funding public sector FE institutions and for the collection of statistical data
