Does your database contain data which is time-dependent (such as contact names and addresses)? Does it get checked and updated?

Does it retrieve consistently and accurately? Do you get everything you should get, with no irrelevant hits, and no relevant hits omitted, when you search it?

Does it (and/or related databases) hold similar sorts of information in the same way? Are you sure there are no numerous variations in spellings? Or typographical errors? One database famously had 42 different ways of recording one specific organisation – which meant that no text search was ever either consistent or accurate.

Do you have house rules for data entry (for example, standardisation of abbreviations or capitalisation)? If not, should you have? If yes, are they written down? Are they adhered to?

Do you use a classification scheme? So that like information is brought together and unlike separated?
